What Is the High Camp Gravel Social?
It's three days of beautiful gravel routes — from Truckee up to Beckwourth Peak, through the Sierra Buttes, and back. You stay at High Camp, an off-grid glamping property on 65 acres with hot showers, modern bathrooms, and views in every direction.
The rides are unsupported — we only suggest the routes. That said, they tend to be social, and the evenings are relaxing and restorative. Expect catered dinners, grab-and-go breakfasts, Alibi Ale Works happy hours, campfires, and a disc golf course to keep you busy between rides.
Routes are 60% gravel / 40% pavement with some non-technical singletrack. Designed for both seasoned and newer riders who enjoy beautiful scenery and good company over a podium finish.

Friday, June 5
44, 66, or 77 miles
Drop your bag at the Lift Co-Working parking lot and choose your distance. All routes converge at High Camp, where you'll pitch your tent (or check into your cabin or yurt), enjoy an Alibi Ale Works happy hour, a catered dinner from Cuccia's in Graeagle, trivia, and a campfire with your fellow riders.
Dinner: Cuccia's — pasta, ravioli, Caesar salad. Happy hour sponsored by Alibi Ale Works.
Day 2
Saturday, June 6
50 or 57 miles
Start with coffee and a grab-and-go breakfast, then ride a scenic loop up to the Sierra Buttes. Top out at Gold Lake (great for a swim) or push on to Mills Peak Lookout for some of the best views in the Lost Sierra. Grab lunch in Graeagle or the Brewing Lair in Blairsden. Back at camp: happy hour, a catered dinner from Sierra Smokeshow, disc golf, trivia, and a campfire.
Dinner: Sierra Smokeshow — BBQ, smoked portobello, potato salad, cornbread. Happy hour sponsored by Alibi Ale Works.

No — this is an unsupported ride. We provide suggested routes on Ride with GPS, which you navigate with your phone or GPS device. No aid stations, sag vehicles, or traffic controls. Some sections have no cell coverage, so consider riding with a friend or carrying a satellite device like a Garmin InReach.
The ideal setup is a gravel bike with 45mm tires or a hardtail mountain bike. Routes are mostly gravel forest roads with some pavement and non-technical singletrack. Plan to carry 2+ liters of water, snacks, extra layers, and tools. E-bikes with adequate range are an option.
Pack everything you need for two nights — clothes, tent, sleeping bag, towel, toiletries — into one duffel. Meet the shuttle vehicle in Truckee between 8–9am on Friday. If starting from Stampede Reservoir, drop your bag in Truckee first. After Sunday's ride, pick up your bag at Alibi Ale Works in Truckee.
Text us at 530-322-0322 and let us know which unit you'd like. We'll confirm availability and get you set up. First come, first served. Everyone staying in a cabin or yurt still needs to register and pay for a Gravel Social spot separately.
Cancel by April 30 and receive a refund minus a 10% fee. After April 30, no refunds — but you can transfer your spot to another rider, who must register and sign the waiver. This applies to cabin and yurt rentals too.
After signing the waiver and paying, you'll receive all event details by email. You can also join a private Facebook group to connect with other participants and coordinate carpools from Truckee.
Dinners and breakfasts are catered by local restaurants. For snacks on the ride, we'll have PB&J, fruit, and chips — and there are optional lunch stops in towns along each route. Alibi Ale Works sponsors the Friday and Saturday happy hours.
